Long live the Unit!

A last release, a final Werkschau on Noice! Podcast… so of course also a last interview about Dumb Unit with Mr. Caulfield. But why a last one? Let’s see what the experiences from Dumb Unit bring for the future! Long live the Unit!

What were your parent’s thoughts about the name “Dumb-Unit”? And about the whole project?

I was raised by wolves and as far as I can tell they were fine with the name. As far as techno is concerned they come from a small “village” so it was hard for them to grasp the entire concept .

If you could do it all over again, would you pick the same name?
Umm. I think it’s you that has the problem with the name !! That’s like asking Mettalica if they could do it all over again if they would have released st Anger . If the next question is about the name of the label i’m going to stop answering these questions.
From which places did you work from? Dirty holes, shiny loft? (weiterlesen …)

Leb wohl, Dumb Unit. We knew Ye well.

Get something to dry your eyes everybody, our long time companion Dumb Unit is no more. In an interview with Resident Advisor, label chief Jeremy P. Caulfield sheds some light on the untimely demise of the label that was a part of him (and us) for so many years. It’s final release will be Jeremy and Seph’s Virtues and Vices EPWe usually don’t condone this, but we think it’s time for a three-sad-smiley salute: We will miss you, Dumb Unit  :( :( :(

New Video: Clockwork & Avatism’s Archetype pondering if its worth it.

Right on the heels of the Ibiza Voice interview comes something to light up your nocturnal Youtube cravings. A dark (DARK! They are serious.) video to light up dimly let your room glow. Clockwork, Avatism, Archetypes. Who are we to argue with style.

New Interview: Ibiza Voice is calling Clockwork and Avatism a Triple

Keep with us and you are always a step ahead of the crowd: A century ago (Note to ourself: Stop drinking caffeinated beverages!) we told you about Clockwork and Avatism’s new release Archetypes. Now, Ibiza Voice got down with the trio (Clockwork being apparently split brained… No more caffein!) to discuss their work for Dumb Unit and Avatism’s dark (Metal!) side. Reading… a trade we should take up again on occasion.
