Dario and Marco Zenker seem to have one ore two fans over at Resident Advisor – and rightly so. After delivering ‘one of the best RA podcasts in some time’ they are now back with a 4/5 star review of Lion in Mars, the duo’s latest outing on Tresor. Take note, Mars Explorer!

Coming May 13th will be VAKANT’s next compilation the New Wave Of, and brother is it loaded: Cesare vs Disorder, Dario Zenker, Tolga Fidan, Nico Purman and the rest of the VAKANT-gang haven’t spent their winter vacation surfing some lone islands. This one is sure to make a splash (ok, no more surf talk, promise) so mark your calendar and… um… surf (damn!) over to RA News for all those nitty gritty details, while we will revisit our forgotten Beach Boy mix-tapes.

Dario and Marco Zenker are delivering a killer (RA’s very words) jam of their own new and unreleased material for Resident Advisor podcast RA.348 and we even get a nice little interview on top… What? Still here instead of listening, reading and sharing? There is absolutely, definitely, positivley no excuse for tardiness like that.

The old year is out but not quite dead yet, as this is the time to look back (through rouged eyeballs) and analyze the hell out of good old 2012. And who do find there on Resident Advidor’s Top 100 Charted Artists? Nico Lahs at position 84. That’s quite an achievement and so we are überhappy and very proud. Nico: We love you, the flowers are in the mail.

Being part of a top notch compilation is always something to be proud of, but being actually identified and singled out as a preview in our books is close to knighthood. Dario Zenker managed to do all that (while still looking adorable) with his entry for Frozen Border’s Minutes on Ice compilation. Oh, did we forget to mention, that said compilation is number 4 in Resident Advisor’s Top 30 Compilations of 2012?  Dario, we hope we are not spoiling any surprises, but you do like fruit and maybe cake, don’t you, because there’s going to be a lot of it under your christmas tree this year. Better get two trees…

Work vs Distraction – a daily fight. Scrolling quickly through Spiegel Online, one game at partypoker, … or leaning back and listening to a good mix! For instance this one, Mrs. Verveine for Resident Advisor, out since yesterday and a wonderful tool for distraction which will last for a pretty long time for sure! And among the bunch of great tracks we are hooked on this production from Gesloten Cirkel with the title “Yamagic”. Not sure if it’s this very hot day with 35° C or the track itself, but we are sure for one thing: the deep this song is already stuck into our heads, it will be for sure one of our summer 2012 tracks… even though it’s from 2011. So thanks again to Mrs. Verveine!

Just two short bits that deserve mentioning: First, Jichael Mackson’s Pulse Radio interview grabbed the attention of Resident Advisor and was prominently featured in todays The Feed. We couldn’t be prouder. And secondly, his gig tomorrow at Basing House made it into London’s Metro paper as a kind of pick of the day, picture and all! Take that, Olympic Games!

Barcelona’s Sónar - or to be more precise the Sónar OFF – really makes big efforts to become already now the Headache 2012 event: way too many good events to attend! Who needs sleep anyway, we grab a XL package painkillers and make it short: 13 events with our boys and girls, from teh terrace of Mirabe in the very North on the beautiful Tibidabo down to the beach at Barcelona Cave Beach, open airs and fresh clubs, old and new friends… This week will be for sure special. Better sort out your guestlist spots now!

On boy! Clockwork, Avatism, a Pony that does tricks, dark subconscious pictures that have been with us since the dawn of time and all on this now out on Dumb Unit? No wonder Resident Advisor gave it 4 out of 5. Who needs penis envy when you can have undeniable class? (You in the first row, put your hand down!)

Hey, will you look at that triple strike: Just out on Cesare vs Disorder’s label Serialism, Quenum’s new EP Another Day not only attracted fine reviews from Ibiza Voice and Resident Advisor but Everyday People (Track 02) has also just been turned into a video. (This sentence just broke our record for most links per word.) Nice work, guys!
